Tango Festival

After the long day at the gardens we all slept in as long as we could. We knew that tonight was going to be a very fun night full of dancing and having fun. I was up early, planning out our day. We were going to a Tango Festival later in the day. All of a sudden, I had the best idea ever, prank the boys. I gathered some whip cream and soap. I then snuck up on them and smushed it in all of their faces. They woke up with a sudden girly scream, and I broke up laughing. They all lept out of bed enraged and chased me until I outran them. After they settled down, I showed them my plan for the day. I told them that after we ate and got energized, we would go into the city and participate in the Tango Festival. This was really good for us because to get to the festival we would only need to take a ten minute bus ride to downtown Buenos Aires. After I told them what was going to happen, we went to breakfast in the lobby. We all got the grand slam breakfast which included pancakes, sausage, eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy. After we ate, we were all in food comas, so we chilled until about 3 p.m. We made our way to the bus stop where we could hear music in the distance. We hopped on the bus in our slick suites and spotted a couple of cute locals. After the bus ride, we hopped of the bus and walked to the festival. Since this was the first of many days of the festival, it was insane. Everywhere people were dancing and celebrating the culture of Argentina. We walked up to where the festival was hosted, and watched some professional dancers. The moves were so in sync, and they looked amazing. The lights of the room were very vibrant, and all of the music was instrumental. We decided to go outside and try to dance with some of the locals and learn the dance.

So we asked a old man and he said, "Tango began in the underclasses, born on the outskirts of Buenos Aires city, where men frequented brothels and bars where the only women present were prostitutes. Perhaps the physical liberation between prostitute and punter was the driving force behind the development of Tango in Argentina." (Culture)We all thanked the wise man, and continued on our amazing night. We all found beautiful women to teach us the dance and, like always, John got put with the last choice. As we were learning the dance, I was the first to pick up the moves with the dance, and also with the girls. Because I was the most talented, I was given props by the locals, and John, Mason and James took notes. All jokes aside, we all learned the cultural aspects of the tango dance and how it related to the Argentinian society. We danced the night away to the music of Argentina, and we all danced until we dropped. After we were done with dancing, we sat around and ate local food. We all ordered whatever the waiter gave us because we did not know any Spanish. What came out was four giant things that looked like burritos. We all dug in and were in shock at how good it was. We tasted beef, chicken, corn and anything you could imagine. We finished and went back to the hotel and played "Combat Reloaded' till our eyes fell out of our head. This was one of the best nights so far.
